Arts and Crafts Exhibits |
This was a very special year for all Armenians in the world. In this year our church celebrates two important milestones: the 1,700th anniversary of the consecration of the Mother Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin and the 1,000 anniversary of the prayer book written by St. Gregory of Narek. The 95 prayers of St. Gregory found in his Book of Prayers - also known as Book of Lamentations - have long been recognized as gems of Christian literature. St. Gregory called his book an "encyclopedia of prayer for all nations." Our exhibit area will honor this historical work and present a recent translation that beautifully renders these ancient prayers in English. |
