Ghapama- A dance that tells the joyful story of preparing one of Armenia’s most beloved traditional dishes - Ghapama!
A bright pumpkin is filled with rice, dried fruits, nuts, and honey, then baked in the toneer, the Armenian clay oven. As the sweet aroma fills the air, friends and neighbors gather to sing, dance, and celebrate around the table. It’s not just food — it’s a symbol of love, warmth, and togetherness! |
Horovel- is a plowing song - a true masterpiece arranged by the great Komitas. He first heard it in the village of Vardablur, in the Lori region, sung by a humble shepherd. Komitas asked the man to sing it again so he could record the melody, but the shepherd refused - even when the village headman asked him to.The next morning, as the shepherd began to plow with his ox, he started to sing. Komitas quickly wrote down the notes and asked why he had refused the night before. The shepherd smiled and said, “My ox was tired after a long day. If I had sung then, he would have thought it was morning again - and time to work!” Horovel performance symbolizes with the proud and unbreakable spirit of Artsakh!

Totik- brings humor and tradition together! Popular in the Shirak region, this playful folk dance tells the story of an old pair of shoes that, after long use, become worn out and full of thorns. Through song and dance, the performer jokingly declares: “It’s time for a new pair!” Lively, funny, and full of character, Totik reminds us to laugh, dance, and celebrate life.

Duet Dance- of the Armenian girls is a vision of elegance and harmony. Their delicate movements and graceful presence reflect the beauty and spirit of Armenian womanhood - radiant, strong, and refined.

Bar Hamayak Jan- is a joyful celebration; simple, innocent, and full of laughter. Through every step and smile, you can see the light of Armenian childhood and the joy of our cultural spirit to life.

Swans – Music by Khachatur Avetisyan. This performance honors his remarkable legacy in Armenian dance and music. “Swans” expresses purity, unity, and eternal motion; a poetic reflection of the Armenian spirit through dance.

Kintoni and Shalakho – These spirited dances come from the Armenians of Havlabar, in Georgia. Though they were born on Georgian soil, their soul and rhythm are purely Armenian; full of humor, wit, and expressive gestures. The music for Kintoni was composed by the legendary Aram Khachaturian. With flair and playfulness, these dances celebrate the lively energy and proud charm of the Armenian people.

Blue Bird – Music by Khachatur Avetisyan. The solo dance captures the freedom, mystery, and beauty of the Blue Bird; a performance as light as a breath and as deep as a memory.

Bar Hayastan -A beautiful dance that is tribute to our homeland: Armenia. Through graceful movement, our dancers embody the strength, pride, and timeless beauty of our nation. It is a dance of love for the motherland, where every gesture whispers: “We are Armenia.”

Zarzngi – The music for this piece was composed by Komitas Vardapet, whose genius continues to shape Armenian art. Our dancers bring a fusion of traditional and modern choreography, blending the ancient with the contemporary - a dance that unites past and present in perfect harmony.

Azgagrakan Sharan –This dynamic dance combines elements of Kochari and Yarkhushta, two of Armenia’s most ancient and heroic dances. Kochari, often performed by both men and women, reflects the bravery of warriors and the unity of the people; its movements inspired by the power and strength of the ram. Yarkhushta, performed before battle, was a dance of courage; a ritual to awaken the warrior spirit, fill the heart with pride, and prepare for victory. Together, they celebrate the strength, resilience, and soul of the Armenian nation.
